Marianne Mitchell is an award-winning author of books for all ages, including the middle grade mysteries FINDING ZOLA and FIREBUG. She has turned to writing for young adults with A PROMISE MADE.

    While doing family research, Marianne came across a great aunt with a mysterious past. No one knew her true story and all that remained were the family rumors. Was she killed on her way to Denver or was she sold into white slavery? Did she disappear out west or marry a rich rancher?

    Those questions and many others led Marianne to research the past, blend real characters with fictional ones, and put it all together in the mining town of Silver Plume, Colorado.

    Marianne has worked as a teacher at all levels but now writes full time. She loves reading, gardening and volunteering with her therapy dog, Misty. She divides her time between Arizona and Colorado with her husband, Jim.
