A 2003 Southwest Book of the Year.

When an elderly neighbor goes missing, 13-year-old Crystal Ramos is determined to find out what happened. But Crystal's investigations stir up even more trouble and put her own life in danger.

Crystal must also deal with the guilt she feels about the accident that killed her dad and left her in a wheelchair. She has learned how to cope with her physical handicap, but will a visit from a ghost help mend her heart?
